Review

This is one of my favorite runs in the city! There are so many options and exploring the trails is so much fun.Β  Park at Medlock Park and jump on the PATH. Cross over Willivee to continue on the boardwalk and then go adventuring! You can continue on the PATH all the way to North Druid Hills (up the paved path, over the railroad tracks, up to Mason Mill park, and continue on the boardwalk). But I love to go off the boardwalk/paved path and run through all the different trails. In the past couple of years, signage and trail markers have been added so you can follow whichever trail you choose. Meander the loops and see the beautiful forest and creek, take turns off on the spurs to extend your run, or follow the straight route along the railroad tracks for a more peaceful run away from the crowds. Don't miss the old cars around the trails!Β

Once you cross over the railroad tracks, you can follow the boardwalk through the peaceful greenery almost all the way to the end and check out the trails on that side of the creek. When you're running through these trails, it feels like you're far, far away from the city. You can even follow a trail over to the Mason Mill dog park if your pup isn't pooped out yet. One of the trails even crosses over the creek and into Ira B. Melton park. The options really are endless!Β

If you want to add to the run beyond the extensions already mentioned, you can hop off at any of the trailheads and run the neighborhood streets or follow the signs to Clairmont Lake and make your way over to Lullwater Park for more nature running.Β
