Review
This is a great run for exploring Inman Park's parks and enjoying the Freedom Trail. Start wherever you'd like on the western side of the Freedom Trail (I start at the entrance on the corner of Boulevard and Freedom Parkway) and make your way toward the Beltline. There are awesome art installations along the freedom trail once you pass the Beltline off ramp, so make sure to enjoy those! Maybe even run a little further past the turn off to check them all out. Once you've thoroughly enjoyed the art, turn down onto the connector to Highland and cross over to wind on the trail through Inman Park. This is a hilly portion, but not too bad! The distraction of all the pretty homes keep you going, plus Roscoe loves all the great smells in the park.Β
Once you've crossed Euclid, you'll keep running up toward the MARTA station. The trail sort of dead ends into the station, so you'll take a right and run through the parking lot to get to Edgewood Ave. I suggest running along the righthand side of the road to make the turn into Springvale park easier. Enjoy the homes and the Trolley Barn view before you turn into the park. Keep an eye on the hexagonal tiles though so you don't trip!Β
In the park, you can either run along the short trail or stick to the paved road. For Roscoe's sake, we ran down into the park, but it is a bit tricky to keep up the pace. A fun little ravine to explore though!Β
You'll cross over Euclid again to run through the larger park. Again, this is a short trail, but a lovely view of the little pond and the ducks that swim there. From there, you'll run up to Elizabeth street and down to Lake Ave. You can continue straight up to the Freedom Trail, but I love to take a left and run through the little Inman Village Pocket Park. There are usually fish, turtles, ducks, and often a heron to view while you run by! I usually take a quick break to enjoy the pond if I'm not in a rush.
Lastly, I run up the stairs and by the tiny Inman Village park and turn by Mariposa Lofts to get to the Beltline. From there you take a right and run until the connector back to the Freedom Trail. Such a fun way to get in some hills and a little bit of distance while enjoying a lot of the little parks that Inman Park has to offer! Enjoy!Β
